Malnutrition and physiological alterations associated with high altitude remain important public health challenges in Bolivia. The studies demonstrated a significant decline in hemoglobin levels and a high prevalence of anemia during pregnancy among women in El Alto, with no significant association with clinical or obstetric factors, highlighting the need to adjust diagnostic criteria according to altitude. Likewise, adolescents living at 4,150 meters above sea level showed oxygen saturation values consistent with physiological adaptation to chronic hypobaric hypoxia, supporting the development of altitude-specific reference values. Finally, a clinical case demonstrated that Global Postural Reeducation promoted functional recovery, reduced pain, and improved gait following bilateral tibiofibular distraction osteogenesis.
