Conflict of interest
Conflict of interest policies.
Current Opinion Nursing & Research requires all authors, reviewers, and editors to disclose all potential conflicts of interest.
Authors. All authors must complete the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) form for disclosure of potential conflicts of interest. It is important to complete this accurately. If they don't declare a conflict of interest and it's later found that you have one, your article will lose credibility. Conversely, full disclosure of conflicts of interest does not prevent an article from being published, but it does allow it to be open with its readers.
Peer reviewers. All peer reviewers are asked to declare any conflicts of interest when agreeing to review an article. Peer reviewers cannot perform a review of a manuscript if they cannot do so objectively.
Editors. The Director-Editor-in-Chief of Current Opinion Nursing & Research is subject to the same conflict of interest principles as the authors. The Editor-in-Chief must declare any financial and/or personal conflicts of interest for each manuscript submitted, and another editor will make decisions about manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest. The Director-Editor-in-Chief receives conflict of interest forms for each author of the article he or she is reviewing. To preserve editorial integrity and eliminate bias, the Director-Editor-in-Chief is not aware of the fee structure of any of the articles he reviews. Editorial decisions on manuscripts commissioned or requested by the Director-Editor-in-Chief will not be made by the Director-Editor-in-Chief. When the Editor-in-Chief, the Associate Editor or the member of the editorial board submits an article to their own journal, COPE Ethical Editing Guide, see also COPE case number 05-22 "Editor as author in own journal". In this case, we would also require a minimum of three sets of independent peer-review comments.
Current Opinion Nursing & Research, adheres to the COPE Code of Conduct, https://publicationethics.org/
